There is no fee to create and host a course on Learnfly, and you can publish as many free and paid courses as you like. We believe in a sustainable partnership, where instructors are rewarded for creating amazing content and bringing students to the platform, and Learnfly is rewarded for driving new students to our instructors.
Instructor Revenue Share Overview
Learnfly Instructors earn revenue from subscribed users based on a royalty system or as per the minutes watched by subscribing students. Each month, between 30% and 50% of Learnfly’s total Premium membership revenue goes to a royalty pool for Instructors. The remaining revenue goes towards marketing and promoting your classes, supporting and investing in the website and platform, and running the day-to-day operations of our business.
Through our royalty model, Instructors are paid out based on their share of the minutes watched by Premium students across the platform each month. Currently, our royalty payout rate is $0.008 per minute of video watched. The first 30 minutes of the video are not counted in payouts. Below is a typical example of Instructor payout:

Update 4th Dec 2023* The above new revenue share model has been made applicable from 4th of Dec 2023. Any new revenue earned from 4th of Dec will be added to the old balance as per the above calculation.
In the above example, we have deducted the first 30 minutes from a total of 240 minutes and paid the instructor for 210 minutes of video watched at a $0.008 per minute pay rate.
Please note that we count payout for every unique user who watches your videos on our platform. So, if two students are watching your videos simultaneously, you will be paid individually for a total number of watched minutes by each student.
On the subscription model, the size of the royalty pool and the number of minutes watched on Learnfly fluctuates from month to month. The fluctuations are based on subscriber activity, as well as the costs of operating the website (such as video hosting), and our marketing and promotion of your classes. Still, it is always true that the more minutes students watch in your class(es), the higher the share of the monthly royalty pool you will earn. On average, first-time Instructors earn $200 in their first month on Learnfly, with top teachers earning upwards of $4,000!
You must get a minimum total of 30 Premium minutes watched across all of your classes within a month in order to receive a payment for that month. Please note, minutes watched by students through a free class or through a free access link do not count towards royalty payments.
Viewing Your Stats
You can see minutes watched data in the stats section of each class. View your total earnings and minutes watched in your Instructor Stats dashboard,
Reporting & Revenue Tracking:
Instructors can track all incoming sales in their Revenue Report. The report includes the date of purchase, student name, revenue channel attribution, total price paid and your revenue.
Additionally, exports in a .csv file are available for each month of revenue you earn, to track your sales and revenue share data
